Pirate pigs… Arrrghh

Buried treasure, ARRRGH!

 

I realized the other day that I hadn’t posted anything on the blog since February, AHH! I have lots of posts to catch up on because there has been a lot going on around the farm. The pigs have been busy little guys these days. Lately I have a hard time deciding whether the pigs are saying oink or arrrgh. Let me explain.

Sherman and Melvin’s daily activities

1. Eat: Melvin and Sherman don’t mess around about their food, they love it and sequel when the meals are late.

2. Sleep: Nothing is better than a pig nap in the sun.

3. Rooting: Pigs root. A Lot.

So, let’s talk about number 3… ROOTING. Our pigs have basically rooted up the entire barnyard. If they aren’t sleeping, they have their cute little pig noses in the dirt scooping like little shovels.

In the process of rooting up the yard, these little piggies have found tons of treasures. Now, I don’t consider them treasures, but to the pigs this stuff is better than pirate gold. When we moved into this house about 5 years ago we knew that the previous owners had been here for a long time, but we had no idea there were so many things to find under the dirt. Every time they dig something up we add it to “the pig pile.” The pig pile lives right outside the pig pen and serves as a little area for us to examine all of their finds.
